CareSync Psych™

Crisis & After-Hours Support

You do not have to face a mental health crisis alone. Use the options below to connect with the right level of help now.

CareSync Psych is an outpatient practice—not an emergency or 24-hour crisis service.

If there is immediate danger, act now.

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department if you or another person may act on thoughts of suicide or violence, has made an attempt, has a weapon or other lethal means available, is severely confused or unable to stay safe, has a suspected overdose, or is experiencing a medical emergency. Do not rely on voicemail, email, portal messages, or website forms during an emergency.

Choose the right next step

What kind of help do you need?

If you are uncertain, choose the more immediate option. A 988 counselor can also help you think through what support is appropriate.

CareSync Psych policy

After-hours communication

CareSync Psych does not provide 24/7 monitoring, emergency evaluation, crisis response, or guaranteed after-hours coverage.

Outside regular office hours, established patients may leave a voicemail or send a message through the patient portal for non-urgent needs. Messages typically receive a response within 72 hours. Weekends, holidays, provider availability, and the nature of the request may affect response time.

Do not use email, voicemail, portal messages, online scheduling notes, contact forms, or social media for an urgent safety concern. These channels may not be reviewed in time to help during a crisis.

Self-pay after-hours appointments may be requested and will be considered based on provider availability and clinical appropriateness. An appointment request is not confirmed until CareSync Psych provides confirmation.

Medication concerns

Refills, missed doses, side effects & medication emergencies

Routine refill or medication question

  • Submit refill requests through the patient portal or contact the office before your medication runs out.
  • Contact your pharmacy first to confirm whether refills remain or a prescription is ready.
  • Do not change the dose, stop medication abruptly, combine medications, or use someone else’s medication unless directed by a qualified clinician.
  • Routine refill requests and medication questions are not monitored as emergencies.

Possible overdose or serious reaction

Call 911 for trouble breathing, loss of consciousness, seizure, severe confusion, swelling of the face or throat, chest pain, or other life-threatening symptoms.

For a suspected poisoning or medication exposure in the United States, contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or use its online guidance.

While connecting with help

Take immediate steps toward safety

These steps do not replace 911, 988, or emergency evaluation. They may help reduce risk while support is being arranged.

Move toward people and support.
Go to a safer shared space and ask a trusted person to stay with you. Avoid being alone if you may be unable to stay safe.
Create distance from lethal means.
Ask a trusted person to secure firearms, medications, sharp objects, or other items that could be used for harm. Do not place yourself at risk while doing so.
Call, text, or chat with 988.
Be direct about what is happening, whether there is a plan, whether means are available, and whether substances are involved.
Use 911 for immediate danger.
If safety cannot be maintained, an attempt is underway, or urgent medical help is needed, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Helping someone else

If you are worried about a friend or loved one

Stay calm, direct, and present

  • Ask directly whether they are thinking about suicide or harming someone.
  • Listen without judgment, arguing, lecturing, or making promises you cannot keep.
  • Do not agree to keep a suicide plan secret.
  • If it is safe, stay with them or arrange for another trusted adult to remain present.

Connect them with appropriate help

  • Call or text 988 yourself for guidance when you are concerned about another person.
  • Call 911 when there is immediate physical danger, an attempt in progress, or an urgent medical emergency.
  • Avoid physically intervening if doing so could place you or others in danger.
  • Share clear information with responders, including location, known risks, substances, and access to weapons or medications.
